I have been interested in the male gaze and have long wondered if it is possible for women to reverse this gaze or if they can, in effect, "stare back," reversing the culturally constructed lens created by patriarchal societies that objectify women.
I was on Critical Commons the other day for one of my film classes, and I stumbled upon this clip from Mad Men, and it was particularly powerful for me.
